Objectives
The aim of this session is to build new collaborations that exploit the great potential of soft machines in a wide range of sectors. Specific objectives include:
• The session will inspire people from a wide range of backgrounds to learn how soft technologies could be applied in their field and sector. These include industry, national research institutes, SMEs, representatives of the EU commission, academia, end users and other potential stakeholders.
• The session is shaped to facilitate and stimulate discussion between stakeholders from various fields, to establish new connections and collaborations.
• The session is expected to lead to new project proposals for Horizon 2020 and novel product ideas using soft technologies.
• The session will inform the participants about the great potential of soft machines and the current state-of-the-art.
• The session will promote this radically new approach and will enable participants to recast and potentially solve old problems by taking an approach based on soft technologies.
• The session will identify emerging and future real-world applications and potential products.
• The session will promote the RoboSoft EU Coordination Action (www.robosoftca.eu) and inform participants about engagement and networking opportunities
• The session will be used to build up a network of people interested in the topic, which will used to facilitate interaction between people beyond this conference with the aim of delivering long lasting impact.

Expected outcome
Tangible outcomes include:
- Increased awareness of the great potential of soft technologies across a wide range of industries and application areas.
- Established (multidisciplinary) cross-sector collaborations that will lead to new proposals for Horizon 2020 and the development of real products.
- The promotion and expansion of the RoboSoft network
- Highly engaged discussions on soft technologies and networking between people from different fields.
- A list of problems proposed by industry where soft technologies have been identified as a high-potential solution.
- Participants will be informed about the opportunities provided by RoboSoft and its network.
